A: Maybe they haven't got the ability to come find us, maybe they don't care, maybe they're really small and they're all over the place and we can't see them, maybe there are some but they're as big as whole universes so they don't notice us and we don't notice them, maybe there's nothing strange at all but they only came into being fairly recently and they haven't got faster than light travel because it's impossible, so they will get here but only in a really, really long time

A: Probability/Possibility and actuality are different beasts entirely.
Some things to consider:
The vastness of space (it may be that the bus simply hasn't reached this stop yet)
Level of technical ability and desire (alien doesn't mean advanced, and why assume they have any interest in finding us in the first place)
Difficulty of finding the Earth (Earth isn't exactly some lighthouse or beacon floating in space with a big welcome sign for ET)
The pessimists view being the famous "Drake Equation". Elaborated upon by Carl Sagan re an advanced civilizations ability to inflict self annihilation.

Busy warring in different hexagrants. Silicoid-Meklar are closest to you, and even have a few ships in orbit around your planet. We're performing too many scientific experiments and using your porn as a primary commodity that we trade with the Sakkra to either take you over or destroy you. You're useful, and being that we are the Silicoid we don't give a fuck about your planet over others so far as food and general minerals. Our Meklar allies would like the planet eventually, but you're much too interesting right now.
Alkari space borders Mrrshan space and that border shifts by parsecs weekly. Klackon space always seems to be expanding, and is the most dangerous of all our enemies. The Bulrathi have been conquered by us and assimilated into our war machine. The Psilon have been eradicated utterly. The Sakkra-Darlok alliance controls a twelfth of the galaxy, but seems to be losing ground in its war with the Klackon, despite our continuous attacks on Klackon space.
And other galaxies similarly are busy warring whilst the ancient Quazilon galaxy-connecting machine pulls Andromeda and Triangulum into us.

Yes.
Why haven't humans achieved spaceflight yet? Sure, they've been to their moon. So fucking what? They haven't started terraforming Mars. What idiots.

Because they believe in magic sky wizards and killing brown people to prop up specialty defense contractors that would've failed in the free market long ago without continued investment in war machines.
And also, because the average human is actually quite stupid and would rather listen to corporate cocksuckers, "think of the children" censors and mindless nationalism and tribalism proponents.

A: It would require wiping out 90% of the human race and starting over from scratch.
Q: Why is it that terrible musicians can become extremely popular?

Because it is based on the fallacy that action is required, action just creates the need for more action.
