How to Authentically Experience God
#91
RE: How to Authentically Experience God
If an astronomer discovers a new celestial object, how is his/her finding confirmed? Someone else looks through the telescope, follows the previous astrononomers instructions, and validates the claim. That is Science, Perception.

It's bad science to dismiss the first astronomer because you cannot see the celestial object with the naked eye.

One must look through the telescope (meditation, orison, asceticism) and follow the first astronomers instructions (forget self, carry cross). Withdraw from society, invest a large amount of time reflecting on the self, the nature of the mind, and peel away the layers of perception untill....

If you find something, like a flaming lion that consumes the flesh and an ocean of infinite bliss, a cascade of infinite joy, revealing the true nature of reality; you have found the "celestial object".

If not, maybe you're not looking hard enough or looking too hard as the case may be. The point is, you have to look, otherwise it's bad science.

If you don't believe the claims of the hundreds of thousands of "astronomers" throughout human history, then you just have to see for yourself.

Or it's simply not there. The point is, I have looked thru the telescope. There's nothing there.

I have looked to see for myself. Now I tell folks "There's no monsters under the bed or in the closet, go see for yourself".
I used to tell a lot of religious jokes. Not any more, I'm a registered sects offender.

there are trillions of stars, if you haven't found the object the first astronomer mentioned you mustn't be following the instructions correctly. You can't just look through a telescope and hope to find the object staright off the bat, there's a lot of noise that you need to filter out.

And when I say "self-reflection" I don't mean stick your head up your own ass.
