This post has evolved a lot- Stalin, Eugenicism, surpluss population. . .

Although I definitely agree with everyone above who said that there are far too many people in the world, if Atheists take too militant or extremist a stance, it is important to remember that we are vastly outnumbered. We depend on the moderates in society- people who may be religious but haven't read the bible and also don't know about or support the various murders and other crimes in it- to keep fundamentalists in check. If we take polarizing stances on things not immediately critical Atheism, such as population control, stances which alienate the middle ground from us, (even if their views are considered by us to be wrong), we remove our primary defense against the fundies.

Essentially, I didn't mean to say that we should be nice and passive regarding religion, but that insulting the mentally ill by comparing them to fundies could make us enemies we can't afford to have.

I was not implying in previous posts that we need to extend olive branches to people who laugh at the deaths of so-called sinners, but we need the moderates. Regardless of whether or not you think they are right, we need them. There are too few Atheists in America to outvote the fundies, and if they are not consistently outvoted, they will become more and more extreme and powerful until they attempt to kill us all.

Enemies of the mentally ill? No worries, they won't notice...they're mentally ill. A battle to the death with a fundy...I am at a loss as to why this is something to be avoided. Angel

Fact is, Aegrus. Many theists like to impose their shit on us. Many like to force their shit in schools and down our kids throats. I think making a lot of noise and being a little aggressive is a good thing. We can't run away or hide every time they make a demand or force their delusions on us. I won't tip toe around anyone. If they're going to shove their bullshit around, I'm gonna confront them about it. As should anyone.

If some twat came into your home and told you what to do and how to live, you'd deck the bastard.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.

I said nothing about theists "imposing their shit on us." I specifically said that we should not take too extreme a stance on issues not critically related to Atheism. I was defending the mentally ill, not fundies or their moronic quest to spread religion.

By all means, fight with tooth and nail to resist theistic aggression and idiocy such as what is shown by the original fundy quote I posted on page one.

Of course, I don't have a right to tell anyone how to live their life.

What makes you think I attack on the basis of atheism? Atheism is just one who lacks belief in god, got fuck all to do with anything else. Atheism as far as I'm concerned, has got nothing to do with it.

I wasn't attacking people with special needs. I was attacking theists. I call them mentally unstable because that's how I see them as. I mock them for talking stupid.
My sister happens to have special needs mate, but she ain't no wack job.
Try to understand, I don't attack people for their....problems. But when nut cases go around, talking shit, threatening people and shoving their shit where it don't belong, I'll call'em as I see them. End of.

Think I'm becoming more like Min Tongue

Glad we got that cleared up. I agree. But what is or who is Min?
