Peacock Spider

This video shows the courtship and mating behavior of the "Peacock spider" (Maratus volans).
At 3 minutes, you can see the male expanding his colorful flaps and then he raises two legs and starts dancing (to impress the female). xD

Nothing, Min. I just like them and I saw this cool video of a peacock spider. So, I wanted other people to see it also. Tongue

That's cool. It's the spider's way of saying,"I am soooo ready to do it."
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

He has other friends too with equally quirky dances, but I though it was enough to only post one video Smile

The ladies love it! Wink
But at least I think flashing colorful things and dancing is so much better than this:

If you're not supposed to ride faster than your guardian angel can fly then mine had better get a bloody SR-71.
