Steve Jobs - February 24, 1955 - October 5, 2011

Yep, more Steve Jobs fellating.

How any of you can be so weird about a man who did nothing for you but sell you pretty gadgets is beyond me... O_o

The guy was a total control freak, was vindictive to anyone who he felt opposed him, treated Steve Wozniak like trash for the longest time, never restarted Apple's philanthropy programs even when Apple reportedly had more cash reserves than the US treasury, etc,. The litany goes on.

What boggles me more is how reasonable chaps like padraic feel justified in badmouthing Bill Gates, while remaining totally bumfuck ignorant of the charity efforts of said individual, and then can elevate the likes of Steve Jobs above such.

Really. O_o;;

The guy was an excellent CEO, but hardly a decent man. His products were fairly good though.

But does that totally justify the frenzy we're seeing over his death? Well, I guess everyone needs a hero, even a rather flawed one...

"His products" were a result of the the hard work of his staff. He added his personality to the sell.

From what I hear, Jobs was always the hardest working member of Apple's staff.

From what I hear, Jobs pulled three babies and one slightly smoking dog from a house fire, clad only in his birthday suit.

He also had nads of gold and slept in a vat of dreams, nurtured by the wishes and hopes of his beloved children, the customers.

Like I said, I know someone who worked with him. He said he was difficult, but exceedingly brilliant and driven.

I have no doubt that those who worked with him and enjoyed it are actually feeling loss. My sympathies and understanding go out to them, as they also go to his family and friends.

It's the random cock sucking that John Q. Public seems to be engaging in that annoys me to no end. And I have been very, very annoyed.

So much like the Bible-Thumpers and their sucking off of whatever prophet, man-child god and pastors/priests...

Thankfully, a week has almost passed, and it shows signs of letting up.

It also helps that American Football fans lost a team owner recently, so they're already in the midst of their collective grief. It might even drown out other things.

Gotta hand it to America -- become a celebrity, no matter the means, and you're assured a wonderful post facto send off, complete with historical white washing and often unearned grandeur.

I expect Paris Hilton to get a similar send off as the late Steve Jobs.

Perhaps he gave but simply did it quietly. That would fit.
Perhaps, but it doesn't stop the fact that when Jobs regained control of Apple, he stopped all philanthropic efforts that were being made by the corporation. Bit of a dick move if you ask me...

To be fair, Apple was struggling financially at the time. It was a wise move.

However, when was the last time Apple struggled financially?

Oh, they're not struggling? Well Steve, now you, and Apple, look pretty piss poor for having more cash reserves than the US Government (at one point) and not sending even a little bit off to the give-back-to-society machine.

Time to bring up Lady Di. What the hell was that about. An average person of dubious sanity is suddenly propelled to high priestess. I'll never understand what that was about.
