Things I Have Learnt At Atheist Forums
#21
RE: Things I Have Learnt At Atheist Forums
1. Debating with theists is an excellent way to test my patience.
2. People can be and are freaked out by the fact that I paint with my own blood.
3. A complete stranger singing me a song can make my day.
4. The words "Phaedra" and "babies" do not belong in the same sentence.
5. I'm really glad I found this forum Smile
That will never hold up in court...

Anyway, wigs can annoy the crap out of me.
Please give me a home where cloud buffalo roam
Where the dear and the strangers can play
Where sometimes is heard a discouraging word

I... um... am I... err...

Sad

Am I not even in the running? Sad

I actually very much meant to say "male atheist."

Surprisingly little.

I've been corrected on a few errors, I can spot flaws in arguments faster now, but really learning anything new not so much. And I find that a pity as I always want to learn.

RE: Things I Have Learnt At Atheist Forums
1. Finding Christians who are actually quite well thought out in their apologetics.

2. Finding "outspoken" atheists who know their stuff and are prepared to back up their arguments with good references.

3. Also finding atheists who don't regard the "four horsemen" as their gurus or even demigods. Rather being human beings like the rest of us.

4. Actually finding a lot of people who have actually read books, much less the sort of books I read.

5. Finding people whose knowledge of certain areas put me to shame, because in real life I am usually known as the "walking encyclopedia". So I have actually learned a lot from being on here from others.

1. That AF is the best forum that I ever came across.
2. That atheists are more open-minded than I used to think they were.
3. Some non-existent but funny words like "Assahollahs" and "Republicolibertarianazi." I think credit goes to Min for both words.
4. That the most important things for discussions are honesty and rationality.
5. That there might be a copy of me in a parallel universe who is an atheist member in the same forum (although I highly doubt it). Tongue

RE: Things I Have Learnt At Atheist Forums
I'm only here about a week so this list will be short and sweet..

1. This site confirmed for me that atheists are among the most friendly, passionate, joyful and creatively talented, compassionate and beautiful people in the world.

2. Finding a place full of likeminded individuals is one of the most rewarding things an atheist can do.

3. I am still relatively unknown here but have been welcomed and accepted so earnestly that it has changed my opinion on forums entirely.

4. I can tend to waffle given the chance, so I'll leave it there for now. Smile
