3100 words, day one, bitch. Two chapters. I'm a word machine. My book sucks, though.

NaNoWriMo

So what is the whole novel about (if you don't mind telling)? Do you have an idea so far?
Yes, I have all of my ideas. I'm really shy about fiction, though, so I probably won't talk about it yet. As soon as I have the synopsis for NaNoWriMo, I will post it here. It is definitely horror because that is a genre I read a lot, so am comfortable writing on such a short deadline. It will be gruesome and tasteless, so I doubt anyone will like it.
Um, guys..? Please educated an ignorant European, what the hell is NaNoWriMo?
Good luck Shell with your book, can we read it once you're done? ^_^ When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura
National Novel Writing Month.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
I have been churning a story around in my brain that I might use NaNoWriMo as an excuse to start it. There's no way I could finish though because I become a perfectionist when writing and it slows me down.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell
I started writing a horror novel a few years ago... Never finished it, as I couldn't really decide the best way to continue from a certain point... I might go back to it at some point. Although, the way I write lends itself better towards screenplays.
Cunt
That's the point, no perfection, no corrections (mistakes fluff your word count). Just write whatever comes out and eventually you'll find a narrative buried underneath it all.

I did NaNoWriMo a few years ago. It was a good experience, and, although I did not finish on deadline, I did manage to finish a novel which has been sent to a few publishers over the past year or two. I won't be doing the challenge this year, but I do have a string six chapters of a new novel which I like very much. I will be writing while you guys write, and I usually do 1,000 words at a sitting (although for the contest, you need to do at least 2K), so I will be thinking of you. Rhythm and I talked about NaNoWriMo in the summer. I am glad you guys are doing it. I would wish you good luck, but it is strictly done on brain and hard work, and you have those things in bushels.
Trying to update my sig ...
I'm pretty sure I am going to make it. I already have more than 5,000 words and counting. It's tough and I get the sense I am neglecting work and won't notice until I am broke, but I'm enjoying myself.
