If you're not supposed to ride faster than your guardian angel can fly then mine had better get a bloody SR-71.

Reminds me of a cool Factoid:

Quote:Tortoises are considered the longest living vertebrates on Earth. One of their oldest known representatives was Harriet, a Galápagos tortoise that died of heart failure at the age of 175 years in June 2006 at a zoo owned by the late Steve Irwin. Harriet was considered the last living representative of Darwin's epic voyage on the HMS Beagle. An Aldabra giant tortoise named Adwaita died at the rumored age of 250 in March 2006.

Are there any left alive where you're from, they're on the way out over here? (their general tastiness might have something to do with that)

There may be a few turtles in ponds left over from the teenage ninja turtle craze. But they aren't indigenous to Blighty.

Turtles are pretty good, I think. I can hardly remember since it has been so long since I've had one.

On a recent trip to the zoo we stopped at the reptile house. When we got to the turtles, they have a couple of the Aldabra tortoises, who were frantically trying to mate... When the boys asked what they were doing, all I could say was they were playing leap frog before exploding into giggle mode XD
