I found this very informative and brilliant, and very helpful for any hopeful writers out there; it's a lecture by Ray Bradbury, and if anyone's gonna offer advice it would have to be him. 
In honor of my 1000th post, until I have some time to actually watch this video and share my thoughts, here is one of my favourite Ray Bradbury-related Youtube videos:
