Questions for theists.

That would pretty much sum it up, sure.

Just to clarify 100%, you feel the punishment fits that crime? You're quite happy to say that as a result of a private, personal choice I have made, that affects nobody, that I deserve to be tortured all day, and all night, for all time (ie, if I had done it on Earth day 1, it would've been over 4.5 billion years so far already)?

I just want to be unmistakeably clear that's what you're telling me. That YOU feel that is a just decision.

Well if you want to know exactly what I'M telling you Eld, you'd better pay attention.

Your punishment for not wanting what is right, it's for wanting to be wrong. Your personal choice to do bad gave YOU the cconsequence of that choice. I relate that to right now too. Choose to do bad stuff and you live hell.

Torture? You can call your self punishment that if you like. I might agree.

See above: I think all will be drawn to God. God won't be defeated by peoples mistaken choices. Otherwise he wouldn't be omnipotent, or loving. I believe that in the fullness of time even the strongest rebels will work out that good is the right answer. The severe consequences are necessary. God wouldn't also be just, and you could excuse your rebelliousness, if your bad actions didn't cause you to suffer.

Therefore I feel that mine is a completely just decision.

Have you ever answered a question with a straight answer? It's so tiresome watching you dance around the issue and give flowery justification for everything instead of just giving a simple response.

Firstly, I'd like you to tell me what 'bad' I am doing. I am certainly not implying that my current life is torture in any way. Why are you being so pointlessly obtuse when you know exactly what it is that I'm asking you?

Answer the question, yes or no. Do you think it is just, that as a result of the private decision I have made (which is actually outside of my control, because I cannot control my beliefs, as you know), that a celestial third party PHYSICALLY tortures me for eternity? Is that fair?

Are you trying to tell us about good or god? They just might not be equivalent.

God and Good, two words separated by an "o".
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

If they die never believing then the same as above.

Quote: 3) my mum is a dead atheist who was a wonderful moral person, kind and accepting of others beliefs, a socialist and altruist who spent her life helping those with mental difficulties. What would happen to her?

Same as above.

Quote: 4) because atheists are not gullible enough to believe things without proof and we cannot force ourselves to believe,(I have tried) would god be nice to us because of this?

Atheists are actually more gullible than Christian Theists; they look to the authority of fallible man for truth rather than the authority of the infallible God of scripture. It’s not really a matter of being nice or mean; it’s a matter of granting grace or justice. Atheists get justice, Christians get grace. Thanks for the questions though, they were interesting.

Oh, ok. I'll go and trust the authority of that infallible God and read the scriptures. Where's my Qu'ran?

It's you ElD who seems to want to misinterpret what I'm saying. I'm making it as clear and direct as I possibly can, and like a twat you keep coming back with your twisted agenda.

I cannot tell you what bad you're doing. Rhythm spotted it: to me God = good. Sure if I want to depart from my Christian belief for a moment and suppose that God =/= good, then I would agree. But then you want me to tell you what I believe as a Christian right???

YES, ONCE MORE: IT IS JUST THAT ANYONE SUFFERS FOR DOING BAD STUFF.

How much more fucking clearer can I make this???

Believe many posters have been trying to understand why god is good, why disbelief is bad, and why said disbelief (in the absence of any other "bad") would land one in the same jail cell as a mass murdering fucker with a penchant for human flesh?

God moves in mysterious ways, Rhythm. Didn't you know?
