Been there, done that, got the tshirt. I actually dropped my iphone in the bath once (because to be away from it long enough to bathe? No way!) I jumped out grabbed a towel (for the phone not me) ran through the house naked poured a zip lock bag of rice and put my phone in sealed tight. 12 hours later my phone worked fine. Big Grin

Hell, if it was just the toilet I'd probably just chalk it up to an accident and move on. But there was also the trash disposal in the sink. And I watch her drop the damn thing at least twice a week. After a while I just got kinda hyper-vigilant to accidents; now I move her phone to safety whenever I see it teetering. Tongue

But anyway, let's all bask in the image of Losty running around in the buff, yeah? Devil

I worked as a CCR at a Verizon Wireless corporate store. I can't count the number of times someone handed me their phone and then told me they dropped it in the toilet. Ew. I learned to keep antibacterial lotion in my drawer.

I'm already basking to that.

At least that's what I'm calling it.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

For the record, mister Esquilax, it wasn't the trash disposal in the sink, that would be silly! I accidentally threw my phone in with the trash bags into a trash compactor. Big diff Wink to be fair I did risk life and limb climbing in after it..

*commences basking
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

You guys are silly. My phone is high on the list of things that are important to me and low
On the list of things I take care of. It's been dropped, thrown, stepped on, and lost so many times (probably several of each per day). This phone is a survivor.

That's what makes them so endearing. High utility and payout, low input and effort. I don't have one, mind you, but I have my equivalent.

It certainly is biased... less on atheism/theism... more on how long/much people have been here.

I could get away with a lot worse of an insult than a newbie could... some things I say would get a newer member banned right quick. I don't get warnings, even for some absolutely ugly things... but don't think I couldn't.

It's that way with longterm overactive members. When most of your staff feels their votes will be biased towards people they may have known for 5-6 years... those votes become much harder to make in the first place. They have more impact on them. Undecided

When the time comes to ban you, as it inevitably must, you know you can count on my vote - to ban you, of course. Wink TS?

I'm always losing mine. By that I mean I'm forever putting it down somewhere and immediately forgetting I even have a phone.

Then there was the time I took some photos of myself in my new Italian suit from Chicago, using the camera on the phone. I snapped a couple (who weren't best pleased at being spied on, I can tell you), then I thought I'd take one of me pretending to make a business-type call. So I posed with the phone and then spent the next ten minutes wondering where I'd left the camera. It was only when I got the idea to ring the number from the phone in my hand that I spotted my first clue.

Because he's not wrong... it doesn't help him out in this case (fr0d0 was a long time member, likely banned for consistent agitation of staff ove rthe course of years and years)... but that doesn't make him any less correct that moderation can be biased here.

Mods who feel that they're biased try to step away from their vote, to not corrupt it with their feelings. It's a thing.
