I've seen many of my own family members being AMAZING fathers...one a better and more nurturing parent than his child's mother to boot.
Character, not gender, makes a nurturing parent.
Try opening up a day care facility with all male employees, or maybe just one or two male employees, and see how much business you get. Looking at a more real situation: in divorce custody disputes, why do the mothers almost always get custody of the children?
Legal prejudices of this kind are unfair, and atrocious. It has no bearing on the value of men as child rearers. And there are efforts out there to change custody laws to be more fair to men.
