Honestly, it would save a lot of money that way. Insurance companies would't have to spend all that money on marketing or executive saleries. Hospitals wouldn't have to spend all their money with a billing department, trying to track down poverty sticken people whose only option for health care is to come into the ER when a situation becomes unbearable.
Sure, taxes would go up for this. It would more than make up for itself in that we wouldn't have to pay health insurance premiums anymore. So if your taxes go up $30 a month, but you're currently paying $50 a month in health insurance, guess what? That's $20 a month you save. Pretty good, huh?
