And here's another thing I just thought of: Out of the 17 games the Broncos are playing this season, 14 are on Sunday. If he's so Gung-Ho about his Christianity, then why is he breaking the (3rd/4th) Commandment by working on the Christian Sabbath? Why doesn't he do like Eric Liddell in Chariots of Fire and refuse to do sports on the Sabbath?

I once asked a religious co-worker of mine why he was at work on Sunday. He responded that he needed the money. I asked how are able to honor the sabbath as commanded by God? He said something like "Im thinking about god". I was like "I hope your thoughts are on this job, were working on live electricity"...

Needless to say, he came up with every excuse he could think of to make him seem like he was really honoring the sabbath, but yet I could not see one single difference between him on Sunday and him on Monday.

I would say:

"Enjoy your dreams, Auntie!

End of discussion."

And never respond to any of her 'personal' messages on this subject anymore. Completely ignore them. Don't even acknowledge receiving them. Kill this subject good, right here, right now, or she will hound you for years, even decades, about it.

Hehe

What would you say?

Say this exactly:

"Aunty, it's not me that has the problem with Tebow's frequent praying ... it's your bible that has the problem with self-glorifying public prayers." Matthew 6:5-6: "And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men....when thou prayest, enter into thy closet and when thou has shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret...."

"Have a nice day Aunty."

I didn't know you lived in Nashville still. I thought you used to live here, but moved elsewhere. I remember all of that. The Murfreesboro thing was really alarming. I grew up in Smyrna, which is the little town beside M'boro, in the same county, and although I was disgusted, I was hardly surprised.
I don't. Haven't since May 05. But I still have both friends and family in the area and occasionally still spend some time up there. We lived in La Vergne off Waldron Rd. so I know exactly where Smyrna is.

Your aunt is probably arguing a straw man. Most people that think Tebow should keep his praying at home probably don't think a Muslim prayer would be any more appropriate. Ask her for an example of someone who objects to Tebow’s behavior who also argues that Muslims should be allowed to do the same thing.

And come to think of it, to go back to the picture in the OP, the muslims praying is appropriate because it looks like they're doing it in a Mosque, which is an area set aside for that very purpose. Tim Tebow's praying is not because it just needlessly fans the anger of football fans by raising a divisive issue that just makes the rivalry between football fans even more ugly.

Your aunt is an ignorant cunt. You can be polite about it but you can't change her into something she is not., i.e., a rational human being.

When you get a moron who is convinced their own little sky-daddy is real there is precious little you can say which is going to change them. If she had been born an Aztec she would have sworn that Huitzilopochtli was the shit...and maybe cut your heart out for denying him.
