RE: Hello atheistforum
Great .... another douche bag christian with the same old tired bull shit lines, "I'm not trying to preach. I'm just spreading good will and enlightening the heathens about how awesome god REALLY is!" Jesus-tapdancing-christ, it gets so old.

Meanwhile they get off on making judgements about everyone and everything from their little isolated tower of pompous self-righteousness.

A GUARANTEE you, that this dime-a-dozen dick head would NEVER talk to us on the street corner the way he's spouting off in these forums.

The only pattern was constant, willful self-destruction along with a refusal to take responsibility for my actions that were worsening my problem. I was my own worst enemy, and once I realized this to be true, I was able to change and bring stability to my life. No god needed. I just needed to take control of my life. This revelation came after hitting rock bottom for the third time in my life, and that would make god a sadistic animal if that's how he wanted to send me a message.

Well, think about it this way. If someone like me approaches you and tells you that Jesus loves you, it doesn't sound like you're hearing that. If God gave you a supernatural experience, you would probably dismiss it as a mental artifact. I know this because I have spoken to more than a few atheists who were given out of body experiences but still deny they have a spirit. So perhaps God in His mercy showed you how tenuous our control really is. That rock bottom may only be one bad afternoon away. That He is in control, and thus our control is ultimately illusionary. It sounds like you got the message, since you were at one point looking for Him.

Well, I think that if you want to consider the question of whether God is knowable, you would have to ask yourself if He has in fact already communicated with planet Earth. Whether He has sent any representitives, or in the case of Jesus, actually showed up personally. Surely, that would bear investigating if you wanted to logically evaluate the matter, don't you think?

Hey Cinjin Smile According to your biography, you are an ex-christian, now a deist. Do you feel the same way towards all Christians now that you no longer believe? Where do your deist beliefs come from?

I'm no ones judge, but apparently you think that you are mine?

I fellow the greatest commandments, which include to love your neighbor as yourself. I treat everyone the same way, with as much love and compassion as I have to give. So there is no difference in how I act here, or there, or anywhere.

G''day Brotherly, greetings from Adelaide South Australia, city of churches and bizarre murder capital of my great nation (truly)

A word of caution: preaching is not only really irritating,it is forbidden here. Please keep your personal superstitions to yourself, there's a good chap.

Perhaps have a go at engaging your cerebral cortex and try discussing something secular about which you have a special interest /knowledge. Most of us would like that and might even stop being mean to you. Tiger

Ugh, my damn browser keeps crashing whenever I try to reply to a post so I can only type out a message down in the quick reply box, but here it goes again.

brotherlylove, I am getting the feeling from your replies that think I am an atheist because I haven't either heard the good word, or considered it properly. I have thought about it and dismissed it. I find the idea of a personal god silly, and not because I am closed-minded or haven't considered it. I find the concept of Jesus being sacrificed for my redemption equally as silly.

I am not an atheist because I'm not hearing people who tell me Jesus loves me. In fact, I am an atheist because I heard the message all too well.

Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

I am just exploring the subject with you. Smile You mentioned you had searched for God and I wondered about how you searched for Him..and since you mentioned you never checked out Christianity because you had dismissed it as a little kid, I suggested that logically, it bears consideration if you wanted to actually investigate the question of God seriously. I am not sure exactly how one might rule out God in the first place, being that we are finite beings with limited knowledge.

Take yer jesus, recrucify the fucker, and carry his nasty old jewish corpse someplace where people are into that sort of shit. Do you have trouble understanding that that shit is so BTDT here that many have developed very strong anti(christ)bodies to such braindamaged shitespeak?

Fucking hell, if there were just some sort of code to put out there for the proselytizers-something simple like their "greatest" commandments. It might read like this:

Thou shalt not shit in a sandbox which doth not belong to you.

or,

Thou shalt piss off no-one who does not believe in the lord your god.

or even,

Covet ye not the conversion of those who are not stupid enough to fall for your shit.

Are you saying that I shouldn't answer questions relating to Christianity on this forum? If so, why do you have a debate forum on Christianity?

I worship no god and I think those who do are foolish. Ergo, I think all Christians are foolish and the large majority are total idiots who wouldn't know a rational thought if it crawled up their ass and laid eggs in their brain.

Christians are everyone's self-proclaimed judge. It's the quintessential part of being a Christian. Judge everyone and always deny ever having judged anyone with colorful outrage - making sure to follow that up with some horse shit deflection about loving everyone the way jesus did. There is NOTHING up your sleeve we haven't heard before. Your words are empty, your religion is a disease, your god, like your life, is pathetic and the reason I'm coming down so hard on you is because you walked into our forums, disrespected our rules and pissed all over the place with your dumb religion. I don't have respect for you, because you don't have any for us. You talk about love like it's some kind of permission slip to say and do whatever the fuck you want. It's not. Some theists are tolerated here, because we like to bat them around and that is likely the ONLY reason you're still here.

...And right below we see the example of the "love card" being played ..... pathetic.

Sheep follow commandments because they are dumb animals who are not capable of thinking for themselves and I don't for a moment believe that you are the shining beacon of light that you are claiming to be. I don't think you could possibly be a more average christian. So far, you are EVERYTHING that I've come to expect from christians ...... all greasy pseudo-righteousness poorly masking arrogance and condescension.

When you understand the difference between debate and proselytizing, get back to us. Meantime, cut the shit.

Okay, but you do believe in God. Is the God you believe in not worthy of worship? Why do you believe in a God?

You seem to think its alright to judge me, so why do you have a problem with judgement? I will reiterate, however, that I am no ones judge, and have never claimed to be. As far as breaking your rules, all I've been doing is answering the questions people have posed to me. If that is against the rules, you should advise your membership not to ask Christians questions about Christianity if you do not wish Christians to speak about Christianity.

In regards to how you view me, is this the way you saw yourself when you were a Christian?

I'm not sure what I have claimed to be other than a follower of Christ and at rest in His love. I am certainly not perfect by any stretch of the imagination. Could you give me some examples of where I have been masking arrogance and condescension?
