Punch people who don't believe like you!

Nowhere did I address the people who have contributed to this thread, nor the af.org community in general, as if they were the people applauding violence on twitter.

Out of curiosity...why bring it up, then? o.O

I've been beat up for being an atheist. It's not uncommon at all. What bothers me the most is that people refuse to recognize it as a hate crime.

As another example of people being assaulted for their worldview. Role-reversal (conservative victim, liberal perpetrator--a role reversal from the usual examples given in this community) can help give perspective on an issue.
“The truth of our faith becomes a matter of ridicule among the infidels if any Catholic, not gifted with the necessary scientific learning, presents as dogma what scientific scrutiny shows to be false.”

Are you fucking serious? Where the hell did this happen? I'd seriously recommend that this student press charges and report this event to American Atheists, Freedom From Religion Foundation, ACLU.

Suspension is not enough, if this same kid had punched a stranger on a metro outside school he'd be in jail. And what fucking prick would publicly admit to such assholery?

By the way if this asshole wants to punch people who doubt or question, or value the right to doubt or question, then he'd also have to punch Thomas Jefferson in the face too.

Funny how people keep excusing the union guys who punched Steven Crowder. Just read the retweets on his twitter feed, people are clapping up a storm and blaming him for bringing it on himself.

That's fucking bullshit. It's fucking bullshit when people blame atheist victims ("He didn't want to say 'under God'! He deserved to get punched!") and it's fucking bullshit when people blame conservative victims ("He was disagreeing with the union protesters! He deserved to get punched!"). The world just has too many assholes.

This is fucking sick. These same assholes rightfully condemn the attempts at violence in Muslim nuts to punch the west into submitting to Allah.

And in any case when they react they are showing what hypocrites they are. Why would their alleged all powerful sky daddy need a mere mortal to fight his battles for him?

When religious people act like this I get the image of a midget standing spread eagle in front of the Terminator shouting "DONT HIT MY GOD YOU MIGHT HURT HIM"

Intellectual cowards and bullies are all they are.

It just goes to show how Christianity has been based off of violence. The cross is a symbol of violence for fucks sake.

Seems kinda "Satanic" to me. To eat the "body and blood" of Christ then kneel and pray in front of a man who has been impaled and nailed to two pieces of lumber? Praying for his resurrection? That's some weird shit if you ask me.

Yeah, it is just like any other creepy cult, but the Christians don't see it that way.

This is yet another example of WHY I remind people who single out Islam to understand that ALL the god/s of Abraham are rooted in divisive tribalism from a very brutal REAL society of antiquity where you protected your clan and loyalty to your king and superstition was a virtue and dissent was a death sentence.

All one has to do to KNOW that Christianity doesn't deserve a pass either is to read posts like this, and to know it's own bloodthirsty history in the Witch Hunts in Mass, the Inquisition, the Dark Ages. Not to mention merely reading the OT and it's vengeful god character who does not take kindly to dissent.

The only reason Christians in the west behave to a greater degree is that secularism has put a leash on it for couple of centuries.

The west has learned IN SPITE OF CHRISTIANITY, not because of it, that civility is better than demands of absolutes.

Imagine if this asshole was a majority of society, and not the minority. Well, even with our democracy we did have a majority of Christians who oppressed Native Americans, blacks and subjugated women.

So it is always important long term to NEVER let things like this slide.

Now it is ... yes

It was stolen from older and wise religions like Hindu Jainism and Paganism. It is a Solar symbol.

That is the funniest bit. The more one reads regarding Satan and Yahweh the more one realises that Satan is the good guy and yahweh is the evil one.

The cross is a pre-Christian symbol but you know how Christianity was, slaughter all those who will not convert and steal their holidays.

Well, the fish symbol Christians use is a rip off of prior polytheistic fertility symbol. It actually started nose up symbolizing the vagina and the curves the legs.

But yea the cross was a torture device used outside Christianity and prior to it's invention.
