"The word in the Greek for neighbor here is: plēsion Which can mean every living being on the planet as Christ himself used the word. But in the more conventional sense it can simply mean countrymen. Now remember in Hebrews 8 Christ isn't speaking, nor are we speaking of a new precept where neighbors are to mean everyone. how do we know this for certain? (As you were so good to point out) This passage in Hebrews 8 is a throw back (word for word) to Jer 31:33 & 34 In that passage the word for neighbor in the Hebrew is: רע rea` Which is limited to country men in the broad usage of the term and close friends on the personal side."
Whether you want to assign the meaning to mean "every living being" or "countrymen", you are faced with the dilema of you excluding some of God's children. That's not for you to decide, now is it?
.
Secondly, Do you remember that passage in Jer 31 you googled, the one that happens to match the Hebrews 8 passage word for word? I don't know if you realize this yet (Even though this is the 3rd time I mentioned it) or not, but that passage was written in Hebrew to the Hebrew people (Before Jesus) In Jeremiah 31 the word there for neighbor is Rea' It means countrymen in that context. Now because the book of HEBREWS was written to the Jews, and because it Took a passage from Jer 31, and recreated it in Hebrews word for word with no other instruction or direction indicating what you are claiming (that neighbor means everyone) it means the Default meaning of the word falls back to the orginal Hebrew, AS IT IS A RECREATION OF THE TEXT IT WAS TAKEN FROM IN THE BOOK OF JERMIAH.
IF You have assigned another defination for this word, it is on you to provide the support for the interpertation you are pushing as I did, and if by some fluke you can come up with an intelectually honest interpertation, and prove your point by using legitmate reference materials (Not commentary) I will conceed the point. Otherwise know I consider this matter closed, and press you to answer my orginal questions (Which you are stalling in hopes of trying to avoid doing. Which makes you a 13 year old in age or in intelect.) So stop stalling and answer the question
Also do not forget I offered to combine these texts for you in a way that is consistent with scripture, if and when you get tired of posturing, and pretending that you know what your talking about. just ask. You just have to be willing to let go of the forced link you are trying to used to put the two together.
