There is a huge difference between private property and public property. You can drive din just about any street in America and view the 360,000 private houses of worship and there marquees which are on private property as you drive by on a puplic road.

There is no oppression of Christians for insisting on neutral government venues.

Mister agenda was speaking in general about Christians, not GC personally.

I wish more Christianists would familiarize themselves with the principal that if you're going to make assumptions about people, it's charitable and loving to assume the best. It's unkind and cynicial to assume the worst.

Just like the government doesn't pay to print your church's bulletins or pay to for your church's microphones, it doesn't pay for the housing or upkeep of your church's icons, and that is a good thing. Free speech is just that, "free," not paid for by the government.  If the government supports one religious Icon, it should support them all.  Since all it takes to make a religious icon is once ridiculous belief from a delusional idiot, the government would be flooded with icons from the great mass of idiots that still live here.

Dearest, I do not have the excuse of being an addict, I did those things because I was selfish, I was in a Christian doing these things, what I wasn't doing was living the Christian life, I was in trouble with God and put my eternal life in jeopardy. I of course get it that you made a typo, but am I correct in guessing that you were saying that you were a christian at the time of doing these bad things, meaning that you had already been "saved" and that you had already let jesus into your heart?

I don't get that part looking at it from the christian perspective. If you opened up one night and really let god into your heart, why didn't god's love transform it more? Was your conversion experience weak in some way? How in the hell do you honestly EXPERIENCE the holy spirit and it only affected you in a half-assed manner?

The cross was erected with private funds. If you object to one groups symbol the right way to do that is to put up your own monument not tear down some one else's. That's how a free society works.

That we can't expect better behavior from Christians than from atheists is rather the point. All but a handful of you walk into our neigborhood with beams in your own eyes complaining about the specks in ours. The only evidence you can possibly have is how you comport yourselves, and you can't (with a few exceptions) even succeed at that.
