Lazarus was a pal of Jesus. So they got a corpse and put it in the tomb with Lazarus. Jesus shows up and call for Lazarus to come out. Lazarus then comes out of the tomb looking all haggard and the local yokels think that he had been resurrected. Later on the bigwigs tried to kill Lazarus for good. The story doesn't say how long he survived after his trick but I'll bet it wasn't very long.
