I think contradictory findings in video game studies prove little more than the effect confirmation bias has on research. Everyone who does these studies seems to have an axe to grind.

They do say if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself. Researching topics should probably be in the top ten things to do yourself.

I think you've been given all the advice you're going to get. Unfortunately there aren't very many options for a minor still living under their parent's care. I guess one other thing is maybe find someone who has the game, or get the game for someone else so you can play it at their house.
