I don't think it was always so.  I think he has been warped by the antagonism he encounters to pre-emptively antagonize.  Just the price of hanging out in the lion's den I suppose if you're not pro-lion.

Well, I don't know about Judi but i've never tried to 'start shit on facebook' with my religious friends. And as to how that would make someone a jackass in the first place, I do not know.

P.S. There have been a few atheist i've seen on forums where I think 'god they're a bad atheist, I hope they stop talking' but Judi is not one of them.

For the record, I don't "start shit" on facebook with my friends. If you are referring to the argument I had with a christian friend, I was put on the defensive when I posted something about HOW to talk to atheists. I wasn't slamming my christian friends in any manner. And just as my christian friends post religious memes on their walls, I too, am entitled to post anti-religious memes on my wall. That doesn't in any way mean that I am trying to start shit with people on facebook.

So, Polaris, before you decide to judge me, take a long look in the mirror and fix your own problems first. I'm not perfect and never claimed to be nor am I self centered. Do I respond to posts in a forum? Well duh. Don't we all?

I never post anything about religion, con or pro, on Facebook. It just isn't what I want to interact with people about .. except when I come here. I'm into other things way more than religion.

Oh I agree. I was just riffing on the idea of interjecting theism/atheism into conversations with my friends and people I follow. It would just be so out of the blue, and possibly a barrier for some. Why would I want to cross some one off my friends list just because they have different religious beliefs than I do?

When it comes to FB I generally block religious sources that pop up on my wall, and suspect my religious friends do the same when I post something regarding atheism or that is irreligious.

Sometimes I do post something smartarse in their posts just to keep them on their toes.

For instance something popped up on my wall with a picture of Jesus and Satan facing off with the comment "which side will you take?"

All the answers were as you'd expect "Jesus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" So I responded with "Odin AllFather"

As I was driving home from bible study and worship service today I came to a realization.  It's not that all christians are joyful, even though they should be, but the only people I've come across in my life that I would consider joyful have been christians.  I see joy as different than happiness, in that it is a deeper contentment, and is there whether one's life is going well or not.  It's present even in times of great sickness and dying.  It's knowing that, no matter what happens, things are okay--not just that they will be okay, but they are okay.     

Do you know what selection bias and sample rate error are?

It's kinda easy to see others as happy when that group is in the majority. I doubt Christians living in Iraq are happy right now. I doubt gays and atheists living in the middle east have as much luxury as you claim to have here in the west. And it isn't like Muslims living in the United states have an easy time.

And it is offensive(not like an insult) but this argument offends my sense of logic. 

Our species groups, and when we surround ourselves with like minded people of course our mood is going to be better on average. But this argument you put here assumes that atheists cant feel joy the same way you do. That is special pleading. You are not arguing for a real god. You are falling for your own emotions.

Atheists feel joy and pain and anger and love just like everyone else. Not because we are atheists, but because our species evolution produces those emotions in all of us.
