Assuming this did happen, then how would we know that this life-form isn't just a more evolved and different life-form? If it conformed to humanity's preconceptions of what constitutes a god, then how would we know that it isn't just showing us what we want to see?  Would humanity accept such a life-form without  a god label?
It would depend on how it presented itself, or, rather , on what the evidence would suggest it to be, Kernel.

If god exists.... what if god doesn't exist?
This kind of statement does not provide any testable evidence
If I saw some convincing evidence then I would covert in a second, I would have to, that's what convincing means. I have not seen any evidence in 62 years but maybe you can provide some evidence that can have no other possible explanation.
I would not hold my breath. The stupidity here is boundless. Not in a billion years will these fucks provide anything useful, let alone evidentiary with their arguments. The ever-evolving nature of knowledge isn't helping their obsolete cases either.

Ok, I still have not seen any evidence of this god thing, I must assume that there is none and it is all made up crap. Have fun with your fantasy, I need to do some more important things than argue with idiots. The cats need feeding
The meek shall inherit the Earth, the rest of us will fly to the stars.

Never underestimate the power of very stupid people in large groups

Arguing with an engineer is like wrestling with a pig in mud ..... after a while you realise that the pig likes it!

Even rocks. If gods were as demonstrable as a rock, or a grain of sand, there'd be no need for any of these silly gymnastics.

Preach it, brother !

This discussion, like all discussions with religious fanatics:

Arguing with fanatics that deny whole history and validity of science, but remember religious fanatics you are total hypocrites because even as you deny science facts like evolution you benefit from it every day

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Have you considered a panentheistic Infinite God that creates a finite space within itself, unfolding all latent qualities within that space as an ordered whole (a lawful universe), and remains outside finite that finite space as the original infinite union?

What do you think you know about the Big Bang?

I will grant you that as a possibility.

Why call the fucking thing God, though ?

And do admit this is mere conjecture on your part.
