You can't call out one side and not the other, and I think it's decades of people doing just that which has landed us in the political climate we're in right now. Another part of me knows that more lives are in danger by not taking refugees than are from taking them in. If you stop making the distinction that lives in your country are more important than lives in another country, the question disappears.

I;m not sure I understand where you think this goes, Alpha.  I "care" more about americans (in any ludicrous situation you care to offer up ill pick another american over anyone else).  What does that have to do with refugees or Syria, though?  I;m not even sure what the risk is supposed to be.  Americans are the riskiest demographic -to other americans-...in america.  The "risk" of refugees is statistically irrelevant, and very nearly non-existent.  

Helping others doesn't -hurt- americans......it makes us great, you know...that thing we want to be again?

Ok I understand that, but there's a difference between giving more concern to one side and then just focusing solely on it while ignoring the other. I think that's harmful, given that it's reasonable to assume now that the far-Left and far-Right actually play into eachother, by both being closed to open conversation. That's why I criticise both, I can't just focus on one.
