As a historian he should have been asking why Matt and Mark said Pete first saw the risen Josh in the Galilee while Luke and John said Pete first saw the risen Josh in Jerusalem.

... and why the original Mark had no resurrection. 
There is no tradition of the "exalted" Jewish heroes in "apocalypticism" being brought back to life. 
The sect(s) of Judaism which believed in resurrection of the dead, thought it would happen "at the end of times", not before.

Then he is a very bad historian if his conclusion is a guy rose from the dead.

Usually they get the faith beat out of 'em at Uni.   Happened to Bart Ehrman.  The contradictions do 'em in. James Tabor and John Dominic Crossan are a little more coy.

Apparently Yeshua had a pal among the ruling elite named Yosef from the town of the town of Ramathaim-Zophim (Joseph of Arimathea) who was able to convince Pilate to let him take down the body before Passover.  Buried him in a nearby tomb on an emergency basis, then moved him soon after sundown on Saturday when Shabbat ended.  Yeshua's wife (Miriam of Magdala, aka the Tower of Fish) saw where he was buried the first time but not where he ended up the second time.
