Yeah I guess he's not going to share any of his wealth. I guess in a way he's right in that he didn't tell anyone to blow all their money, but after someone does something like that based on what you say, the only humane & compassionate thing to do would be to help them out. If anything this is going to drive a lot of people away from him, though they'll probably go find some other idiot to follow. Reminds me of The Life of Brian: "I say you are the Messiah. I should know, I've followed a few."

I just can't wait to see what happens to his followers on October 22nd. Will they be like rats abandoning a sinking ship, or will they again be bewildered that nothing happened, but still believing in whatever he says?

They will chalk it up to god testing their faith again. When you use that justification, anything can happen and your faith will stay intact.

She allegedly forced her daughters, 11 and 14, to lie on a bed and then cut their throats with a box cutter. She then tried to kill herself, though police arrested Benedetto and all three survived.

Others were not so lucky. An elderly man in Taiwan reportedly killed himself on May 5 ahead of the Rapture by jumping out of a building. He had heard that doomsday was imminent, and had taken recent earthquakes and tsunamis as early warning signs.

I'm just curios... why do they not make a law to punish the 'prophets' that preach the date of the end of the world, after it is clear that it did not happen? (after, because there needs to be a good justification)

I mean, something like prison for life, death sentence, something. Think about how much evil these guys do, and for their deceit, they are not punished at all! On the other hand, they gather lots of money from the feeble minded; perhaps there are also people that sell their houses and give him the money or something, because the end of the world is coming!! You know, if deceiving the population had been punished, and punished harshly, then few would have dared doing something like that again. I do believe that people should have "freedom of speech", but within some limits!

Did you read the part when Camping was asked about the people who donated all of their money. His answer" They will cope" Is this guy a dick or what?

I think Camping must be a fan of another nutjob William Miller, who predicted the world to end 3/21/1844 and when it did not happen he re-calculated it to April of that year. These guys never admit the Bible is not very reliable. When Camping is wrong again I am forced to wonder if he will recalculate or just disappear this time?

Does this guy really hate this planet and everyone on it or is it just me? All he dwells on is death and destruction, and of course watching people being horrifically burnt in hell. This guy belongs in a mental institution.

Seriously, this too is part of Christianity. It was founded as a doomsday/death cult by Gnostics who felt the material world was inherently evil and the goal of life was to escape to a better, "spiritual" realm.

You are right the gnostics are a cult, you are wrong about them being the founders of christianity, Christ and Him alone has that wonderful title.
