Is there a picture of my butt in here? It's so hard being a bimbo.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

"Every luxury has a deep price. Every indulgence, a cosmic cost. Each fiber of pleasure you experience causes equivalent pain somewhere else. This is the first law of emodynamics [sic]. Joy can be neither created nor destroyed. The balance of happiness is constant.

Facter: Every time two people kiss, an orphanage collapses.
Factest: Every time a baby is born, an innocent animal is severely mocked for its physical appearance. Don't be a pleasure hog. Your every smile is a dagger. Happiness is murder.

Just to say I'm taking a little break from the forum, just to try and stabilise my brainspace. Or heartspace. One of those three anyway. I know I've caused a lot of panic lately, for which I am truly sorry. There's also a bit of drama that's been taking up my time, which hopefully will be resolved soon.
So as old Arnie said, "Put that cookie down!" - I mean, "I'll be back!"
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Just finishing up a maddening set of phone calls with Amtrak. But I now have all the details for the great two night over night train trip of doom from Oregon to Wisconsin to get the grownup child and all her luggage to college.
Actually, I think the train trip will be a great adventure. Leaving the girl behind might be a bit of a mommy adventure, but at least I'm coming back by plane.
