I don't mean to be too critical about your inquiry and el_presidente can certainly speak for himself, but I think this has already been answered. el_presidente explicitly set aside orthodoxy. This leaves, based on his comments, a strong yearning for community buttressed by a common sincere tradition; the tradition and community ultimately being more important than the putty with which God fills the gaps. I respect this, despite my ultimate disagreement about the actual existence of any particular deity.
