The position of the Church is that any sexual activity that is not between husband and wife, is not moral. That includes hetero and homosexual sex just the same. Now the position on gay folks themselves is that they don't choose to have the attraction they do, and "They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided" ... Catechism 2358
But if the Catholic church doesn't condone gay marriage, then it must hold that gays should never have sex?
Yes, that is correct.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

That doesn't seem a very generous or enlightened view.

I wonder if that means the Catholic church officially thinks homosexuals are deviants? I guess some gay people might be okay with that much acceptance but I know I wouldn't. I guess the church must think their sexual nature is a sin. The church can't reasonably hold that homosexuality is unnatural since it is so common among mammals.

They believe snakes can talk, so I wouldn't be so sure what the fuck they think is 'normal'
Of course they think it's deviant behavior. Religion teaches that homosexuality is a perversion, not love. Which is total bullshit. My daughter isn't marrying her girlfriend so she can fuck her. She already fucks her all she wants to. Which I'm sure the church already finds 'deviant'.
Much like Baptism (How the fuck is dunking someone in water doing anything?), I just don't get how getting married suddenly makes sex not sinful, when Sex shouldn't be a fucking sin in the first place. Just like Bacon. Or clothing of mixed fabrics. If God didn't want us to eat bacon, he'd have made it taste terrible. If he didn't want us to have sex, it wouldn't be enjoyable.

No, it just means gays are no different from the rest of us. We all have temptations, we all do things that are immoral sometimes. This applies to everyone everywhere.
The actual feelings of attraction towards the same sex are not sinful because they are not freely chosen. Whether they stemmed from genetics, from environmental factors, or from a little bit of both depending on the person, the important part is to remember that it is not voluntary. So being gay, in and of itself, is not immoral because it is not chosen.

Lol, speak fo yo self, girl!
I think most Catholics don't believe in a literal interpretation of Genesis. I certainly don't.

But you have a literal interpretation of other parts of the bible? How do you know that some of it isn't meant to be so fucking literal, while other parts are? Maybe it's none supposed to be taken literal.

As Catholics (I say this because it is different from other denominations) we believe the important part is believing in and following Church Doctrine. Whether we choose to take the stories in the OT literally or not, is really just detail so long as we believe and follow Church teaching.
Personally, I don't think any of the OT is literal.

This may have already been posted, . . . I didn't read the whole thread
2. Homosexual men are more than twice as likely to spread HIV and other STDs than straight men, which applies to lesbian woman too.
There IS a rise in syphilis among gay and bisexual men recently.
Lesbians, on the other hand, have close to 0% of STD's. This is because the male penis is the primary "delivery method" for STD's.
Lesbians don't tend to get STD's -- not even yeast infections, at all.
Back when Falwell and others were claiming that AIDS was proof that gawd hates homosexuals, some witty folks responded that by that logic, gawd must really love lesbians.

Everything the RCC says regarding sex makes me barf. It's why I can't have anything nice.
