Evie - I always liked the Sarah McLachlan song/album title, "Fumbling Toward Ecstacy". Never have found a better description for the process of finding out our sexuality. However, I can say pretty definitively that, as nice as it is to practice with willing partners, nothing will come close to the feeling when you find true chemical compatibility. The chemistry between my Beloved and I is so strong that, when the doctors told me I'd likely never have kids again, we laughed and said "unless we look at each other for too long". Just breathing in the air near her is intoxicating to me.

I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.

Best part about being so baby-faced that I look ridiculous in a military uniform at 18 is that when I'm 39 I finally look like I should be wearing my 18-year-old self's uniform! Heh.

Seriously, I've never minded if gay guys flirt because I like to flirt with females, even ones who'd never be interested in me, even ones I'd never be interested in, myself... and it seems no different to me to have a gay guy do it to me or vice-versa.
