CHAOS!!!

Can you pray me a ham sandwich while your at it?
I'd like a foot-long meatless sub with cheddar cheese, tomatoes, olives, onions, pickles, extra pickles, a few more pickles, and lettuce. I would like to have a small Sprite® with that. And a cookie.
Make that two cookies. Please give me a home where cloud buffalo roam
Where the dear and the strangers can play
Where sometimes is heard a discouraging word
But the skies are not stormy all day

But i'm hungry, and that might just cure my sickness. I really don't want to be sick tomorrow, and i urgently need to get better, and I think that a perfect Subway sandwich is just what i need.
I suppose grilled cheese might do me some good, I'll go ask my mother for some I guess. But it would be too much to ask of her a subway (long drive into town), so I was slightly hoping that God might take pity on the situation. Please give me a home where cloud buffalo roam

Just let me know if my prayers worked or not as soon as you're ready. There would be no way to tell. It is an unfalsifiable matter. The question is "Why the fuck would they have worked, whatever happens?" (December 31, 2010 at 8:35 pm)Rayaan Wrote:(December 31, 2010 at 8:29 pm)Darwinian Wrote: Then why pray? DoubtVsFaith Wrote:Why is it good to pray? Let me cut you off there, and give you some good answers 1: It can in some forms increase the level of calm, not unlike those 'inner peace' religions. Ie: at a dinner table, the exercise of blessing food and praying for health appears to have a relaxing affect upon many of the people at the table. 2: the experience is likely euphoric, if it is anything at all similar to my really really hoping that Russian will be available 3: coping mechanism, should be self-explanatory. 4: In the event that it actually did work, it has some capacity to do things that those praying might actually believe they are helping to accomplish. Although I don't believe praying works, some people do think it works, and many of those people believe they are doing a good thing. It's a nice feeling, much akin to donating, or helping an old lady across a street, or holding a door open for someone else to walk through? If you ask 14 questions in rapid succession, without letting the person you are asking them of answer, I should think you are simply being rude. How about I ask a question, Doubtie (like the new name, btw): The feeling one gets from donating... from helping.... from caring... that's a feeling one can expect when they believe their prayers are doing good... helping. Would you want to deprive people of that feeling? Please give me a home where cloud buffalo roam

@ Saerules
Why are those things good? You may think I was being rude but rudeness was not my intention, and would everyone find it rude? |
