2015 NFL thread
RE: 2015 NFL thread
Everyone has the opposite magnetic polarity of the ball.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Skins have Dallas tonight, Jets helped us out by beating the Giants in a squeaker in OT. To quote Max from Get Smart "Missed it by that much".

My prediction: Redskins 21 - 7 Dallas

The Cowboys just aren't good without Romo, and the Redskins have confident since they beat the Giants.

By the way, next year I think it would be fun to do some prediction competitions for the NFL, so before the start of each week, people submit predictions for the outcomes of each game and the person with the lowest point difference wins.

Well, last year we had people picking the winner of each game each week, but I think that turned into a lot of hassle for the person in charge of it. That's my guess as to why we didn't do it this year. It's too bad, because it was a lot of fun.

I don't mind being in charge of it. I'll probably just create a spreadsheet that calculates it all automatically.

I was thinking we could do both at the same time, so people can either just pick a winner or try and guess the overall score.

I'll start at least the win/loss prediction thread for the rest of this season, since there's 4 games left.

Nope, while it does look good the phrase "any given Sunday" still applies. I am only cautiously optimistic. But the Skins have not been consistent since Danny bought the team so nothing would surprise me. I remember one game between the two where the Skins were predicted to swamp them, we were up 21 zip at the half and lost.

As long as they don't go into the game taking it for granted, it will be close or better. But if we go in there thinking because Romo isn't in, all bets are off. I get what you are saying, but in this game you don't take things for granted.

We did it last year. Yahoo has a "Pick'em League" that allows everyone to pick every game every week. Its great, but once a person misses a week, they drop off.

There aren't enough people on here who care enough about football to make the picks every week.

Hell, setting a fantasy lineup takes 2 minutes a week, and we barely have 6 people on the site who stuck with it for more than 4 weeks.

I think people will tend to forget if it's on a separate site though, especially if they haven't done it before.

That's why I don't mind handling the admin side of things and just having an informal competition here. At least I can chase people via PMs for their picks.
