This quiz has defined you as a Libertarian. Keep in mind, this ideology can be applied to the right or left in the social sense. You believe in a minimal role of the government in solving problems and believe that the "Free market" can handle almost all economic situations.
Really? Libertarian? Thank thank goodness you don't live nearby; I'd have to kill you.Not for being Libertarian per se you understand, but for being a highly intelligent ideologue, a very dangerous animal.

Libertarian no but close to it, but with a reserve for governance so far as as law and order, infrastructure, defence etc are concerned. I think the only laws that need exist are the types of laws that forbid you to force others into situations that they do not desire, coerce people into undesirable situations and decisions, act fraudulently and neglecting those under your responsibility - essentially as long as the actions you take do not thwart the desires of others you are free to do them.
Not sure where I stand on public medicine, I'm tempted to classify it as a social essential but only to a limited extent so as to cover care for those who cannot afford private insurance, but Ideally I'd like everyone to be able to get their own insurance so the government doesn't need to get it's inefficient clumsy paws on the funds.
As for the economy I'm more of a true Libertarian, The government shouldn't have shit to do with the markets beyond policing them, and based on the same standards set for general law, the aim of preventing the thwarting of desires - that's all that should be necessary, so long as people remain vigilant and the free market is allowed to account for the bumps and bruises we should be able to get a far more balanced global economy after a rather nasty cleansing period - That's not going to happen while governments around the world keep borrowing to spend.

Pardon?
Australia was founded by convicts. To this day we have a healthy contempt of authority. However, our form of democracy emphasises equality rather than individualism.
I understand but reject Libertarianism as I do all ideologies.I think the premise of the desirability of a laissez fare economy is as flawed and romantic as Marxism in the unfounded assumptions it makes about human behaviour.

Strange I would consider myself a "Social Liberal" not a Libertarian. Also I ranked almost as high as a "Conservative" :-s

This test actually kind of sucked - there were several question that did not have an answer I agreed with. I'm usually as close to "center" as you can get. Hazard of having an embarrassingly die-hard Republican father and a secretly Democrat mother: you get to play devil's advocate with politics.

Personally I would put my hand up for 'Libertarian'
But as the "test" is so heavily slanted and biased towards 'Americans' I will refrain from taking it.

questions were too obvious and some of them were too american centric.
What is your political ideology?
Your Result: Communist/Radical Left
This quiz has defined you as a Communnist. The Cold War is long over, so we won't report you to Senator McCarthy or anything like that. Generally speaking, you favour the equalisation of society through tax rates approaching 100% and communal control of property. You may or may not wish to achieve this by revolutionary reasons. Most political scientists would define you as a "radical"
Social Democrat
Liberal
Fascist/Radical Right
Libertarian
Conservative

It was just a joke. My apologies for thinking you were British. (EDIT TO ADD: not that there's anything wrong with that either, I'm apologizing for the case of mistaken identity.)

As an ex-Libertarian, I agree.
As I've said before on this forum, I look back on what I used to believe as a "Reaganian" and reflect on it the same way an ex-Muslim or ex-Christian might marvel at the silly things they used to believe.
