The proper way to do it would be to conquer the area, overthrow whatever government is there and supplant it with an Islamic regime, then colonize the area.

The Muslims in Britain now aren't doing it right.  Lopping off some heads would seem to be called for.

What about a "Slimwa"? Obesity is a problem.

Once again the UK is a secular society. Politically you can call it a "Christian country" with the Royal Family and de facto state religion of Anglicanism. However, as a whole society we function as a secular country, where religion plays very little (if any) role in the everyday life of the average Briton. We are certainly more secular than The USA is, despite the American constitution itself being the most secular in the world. There's a difference between saying "we are a secular country" and actually being a secular country. The USA claims to be secular but isn't, while The UK claims not to be but it essentially is on a societal level.

The hardcore Christians of the UK are an incredibly small and fringe minority of white British people. In fact it's so rare to hear hardcore Christianity in a British accent that I double-take when I hear it.

Yep there is a difference between written law, and the behavior of those living under that law. America is supposed to be a secular country and is by law, but you wouldn't know that considering how much Christianity is pandered in politics.

It pisses me off how our right looks to the East and says "Look at those horrible Islamic theocracies" but have been doing everything to create a Christian version here.

I don't consider the British right-wing religious, most of them aren't. Right-wing politics in the UK is centred more around white/British nationalism and identity politics.

Christianity might be dragged into it when opposing Islam, but that's the only purpose it serves to the right-wing agenda. It's not genuine and they don't give 2 shits about Christianity. It's just something they pull out occasionally because "we are a Christian country" suits the moment.

Europe is a Christian continent (predominantly). There is nothing wrong in admitting that. The most influential religion culturally is Christianity, for the good and the bad.

Yes but at a cultural level it has virtually no impact on British society in the 21st Century. Literally the only time you hear British people getting passionate about Christianity is when it's in opposition to Islam. the rest of the time, church is boring and we don't go unless it's a wedding.

We're not a Christian country and I get tired of the pretense that we are.

Also side-note you really have to stop quoting me before I'm done editing Tongue you have such a habit of doing that.

I can relate to that to some degree, but even if doesn't have a direct influence many of the things we stand for are historically influenced by Christianity. I mean, I'm not talking about the fact there's beautiful churches everywhere, it's more the way we think and the way our societies are organized - It's all influenced by complex historical variables, and one of them is the dominant religion, whether at the moment or a few decades/centuries ago.

European nationalists are crazy. People give America all kinds of crap, but seeing the reemergence of European nationalism is super scary.

I don't think I'd call that a clash, I think it's more what an internet argument looks like in real life.

It is, knowing where it can lead, and has in the past.

I'm dead sure we're going to live to see another Nazi regime in Europe. It's a time-bomb waiting to go off and I hope I'm far away when it blows.
