The Medicare system is the same.  If a  person stays with the original Medicare plan he will pay about $109 a month but he has to pay around 20% of the bill out of pocket.  If he gets a Medicare Advantage plan it varies a lot, depending upon the specific plan but he also has to continue paying the $109 a month.  The coverage among the Medicare Advantage plans vary a lot.  Sometimes the more expensive plans provide the worse coverage so you have to compare them very carefully.  I understand the website is really good for that.  Then you might have to select a drug plan and pay for that.  It helps to have a list of all of your drugs because they vary in price from plan to plan and among pharmacies.  It's a big deal finding the best choices but the website is supposed to be very user friendly.  Too bad the ACA didn't use the Medicare format.  

The politicians tried to kill the ACA because they didn't want black people to have coverage.  It's a Jim Crow thing.  That's also why they are trying to kill Social Security.

A lot of the dummy Dems got kicked to the curb because they wimped out on supporting the Dem agenda. So now the average Joe is paying the price.  Pelosi and Kathleen Sebelius were the wrong people to head up the ACA drive.

I agree that he's relatively spineless but there was way too much resistance to a single-payer plan. This was an unfortunate but necessary step. It's just like there was too much resistance to gays serving openly in the military. The intermediate step of don't ask/don't tell was necessary to prove to everyone that the sky wouldn't fall.
