Okay fine, I think it's relevant, my question is, why is this happening?

Why is what happening?

Isn't it obvious? I'm clearly asking - why is photosynthesis happening? Tongue

Do we agree on this?
If we do, my question is, why are there so many single mothers?

Because more women than men take up the majority of the responsibility of raising their kids.

So you're saying there are more single mom's because men in general are irresponsible?
(and women more responsible?)

Let's also not forget, that one irresponsible pr*ck with a bicycle can create half a dozen single mothers in a weekend.

Indeed, hence my mention in the previous post about fathers abandoning the families they create.

That isn't what the statistics show. The statistic you linked shows that there are more custodial single mothers. But each of those single mothers has a concomitant single father, unless the conditions I laid out earlier are in play.

As for why more get custody, I've answered that. Scroll up and read it again.

It happens that here in America, in contested custody, women are awarded custody far more often than men. I'm not sure that more women than men want custody, simply that they get it. If you've got numbers, I'm amenable to correction.

I don't understand why you insist I can't say single mom or single dad but I can say single parent.
So you're not a single mom, you're a single parent? What's the difference?
Single meaning you're no longer with the child's father, mom meaning you're a woman. I don't understand what the distinction is.
Okay, let me rephrase my question then - why are there so many single parents that are women?

This has been answered for you twice already. In contested custody cases, US courts award custody to the birth mother in numbers exceeding that in which they award it to the father.

Are you saying your family courts are sexist?
