Thank you for all your help. I will work on this later.... unstall everything and reinstall stuff. Also, I think I am going to tell my computer guy to get me 4GM of ram and put it in here. That'll bump me up to 8GB total. I also have the most current, up to date version of java. I think I may have to retweak the JVM under my profile name, as what I had manually put in before didn't carry over to this one. I did put it in again, but it didn't work. I still got the same error message.
Something's gotta give, right?

There is a quick command line workaround to the java error you got, yeah. Whenever things start to get spooky I stop making reccomendations for fear of setting someone elses stuff on fire.
8g of ram should be fine (for alot more than minecraft), a video card would go a hell of along way as well. Even a low grade. Takes the strain off your cpu and they come with their own ram built in.
You know where to find me when you want to try again, lol. We gotta make a mud hut online or something when you finally get it working.

I stopped in to see my computer guy while I was running errands. In about two weeks (gotta pay those pesky bills first), I'm going to drop off my computer. He will not only install a new video card (he won't remove the other one since it's built into the motherboard) but he's putting in 4GB of RAM to bring my total to 8GB.
Oh and also... he showed me Ark*.
I want it. It has dragons. Dragons! Like... I lurve dragons soooooooo much.
He said it was like Minecraft for adults 
He also said that the issue I'm having with Java is related to my video card. So this can be fixed. All for around $150. I'm hoping that's a good deal for a new video card and 4GB of RAM.

Sounds like a good deal for a serviceable card and 4g of ram. You'd probably have to run ark on low settings for the most part, but ark can turn a top end system into a toaster, so that's not a big deal. You know what I want to get...to play ark with.......whenever they come out with a pc that could handle it - that I can afford.

Sweet... that's something I'm going to have to watch when I have time. It's over an hour long lol.
So with the new video card comes another HDMI port. Guess what's getting turned into a second monitor?

The upside to the new video card is that I can still use the monitor that is on the AIO AND use the tv at the same time.
