I'm not sure why you would think they would be mutually exclusive. Unless you think that since I am a faceless bureaucrat (my words not yours, generally how we are referred to in the UK) I must worship at the altar of bureaucracy?

Envious of your climate, I did spot a sunbeam earlier but it was gone before I could get my camera, forever confined to myth and legend.

Hehe... I was trying to avoid generalizing while encouraging you to provide your unique point of view on the subject.
I guess... a tax collector would be aware of which bureaucracy stems from the EU and which stems from the UK and to spot which seems to provide a better outcome for the overall population... or something along those lines...
So... what is your point of view on the subject?
