I quite like Rutland UK where I live, (it regularly appears in the top 5 places to live in the UK for quality of life) and it will do for the moment, but my dream would be to retire to coastal South Suffolk, or the Lake Bled area of Slovenia, which is just beautiful.
Took these back in 2014 when i went back to revisit a place i once called home. I didn't grew up here, i grew up in Newark, NJ but i had by best years there. Moved to Florida during my 20s.
Bayshore Blvd. Lived about a few minutes jogging distances away.

From March to May, bluebonnets line the road to my home, lush lavender carpets. Wildflower season dowm here is, even for this old coot, a sight to behold:
The bald cypress I was writing about above -- water-loving trees and their canopies often are the roof for canyon biomes entirely different from the sun-parched ground only a hundred feet above:

A roadrunner:
A blue heron:
A water moccasin:

Hill Country has lots of little secrets.
Also, cool shots of Berkeley. When I lived in the East Bay (Livermore) I used to love hiking Mt Diablo.
My job took me to Berkeley on a few occasions ... definitely a strange little slice of California.
ETA: Quote tags seem to be malfunctioning.
ETA II: Looks more like an intracranial software glitch than a forum issue.

If you clicked on the quote tag for an earlier post, it will continue to quote the very that same post in all of your responses to this thread until you un-click it...at least, I think that's what it is. It's happened to me before, and that how I managed to "fix" it, anyhow.
EDIT: Never mind. Seems as if you've already figured it out.
Carry on.

Here's where i use to live
My dream location. Just a little further south.
Absolutely loving these slices of life. Good ones, BunnyBoy!
I live in the San Diego area in California. Meh, I'd rather live in a more rural part of the county. Either that or move to the small-ish town in Washington where my paternal grandmother lives. More green, less people, lower cost of living, nicer weather(in my opinion, I'm actually not a fan of the hot sunny weather San Diego is known for).

I spent the entire religious phase of my life there. In 8th grade, by the time my father was restationed to Maryland again, I'd been irreligious for two years. I liked it a lot. Still do. But I am also not a fan of hot weather so further north suits me better.
I was down there at the end of March this year and stayed with a friend in Mission Hills for a few days. Mostly 70's and 80's. Saw loads of great gardens plus the Anza Borrego Desert. I could definitely be happy there .. and was.

We moved to Wylie, TX about 10 years ago and I love it here. We are about thirty miles northeast of the heart of Dallas. Little railroad town that has grown a lot and is a great mix of old and new. It's quiet, safe, and sssssssssssooooooooooooo much better than South Carolina where I was trapped for twenty years...gads, I hate that place.
I did like Sierra Vista and Prescott Valley, AZ when I lived in those towns back in the 80s. I hated my hometown in Iowa.
I am quite content here and figure this will be the last place I live. Two of my three kids are here as well as two of four grandchildren.
