This is the same sort of dimwittery that the anti-vaxers use for their demented screed against vaccines - wee Jimmy was given a measles shot and later developed autism. Therefore, vaccines are bad.

Balance medical wins against medical failures and you'll fucking RUN to a doctor.

I have lost patients but, so far - knock on wood - I haven't caused the death of a patient.

In fact a couple of weeks ago I caught my intern in a mistake that would have caused severe issues for a patient. And that is why interns have people they have to submit their paper work to.

Errors are made.

Doctors are people, and make mistakes.

Personally, I'd rather see my doctor than ignore him and risk my health.

He brought you the wrong kind of coffee before surgery? Irresponsible bastard!

I keep telling him, "Hot Chocolate!"

But now he's being good because I'm writing his half year assessment...

My mum survived a sub-arachnoid brain haemorrhage and is still with us precisely because of modern medicine. The OP can stick his conspiracies up his arse where he keeps his heart.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I have a tiny amount of platinum wire coiled into an aneurism in my brain.

If it weren't for modern medicine it could have ruptured at any time and killed me.

Good to hear your mum's still about. I've had two instances in my life where it took skilled medical people, modern technology and (in once case) high transfusions to keep me going.

I propose an experiment. It requires someone who decries modern medicine, a proper location, and a sharp, rusty knife encrusted with fecal matter. Here's how it'll work: We place the anti-modern med individual just outside the entrance to a state-of-the art hospital, say 5m from the doors. An identical distance on the other side of the individual, we place a table with various sort of alternative medicines; acupuncture needles, healing crystals, copper bracelets, a Christian Science handbook, and so forth. Now, here's the fun bit: We stab the test subject with the filthy, rusty knife and see what way sh/e runs.

In order to get a large enough statistical universe to be useful, I suggest repeating the experiment, say, 1000 times or so.
