What does this mean?

I'm looking at my NetGear router stuff online and was looking through the logs when I discovered this:
[DoS Attack: ACK Scan] from source: 209.197.3.53, port 443, Friday, July 15, 2016 18:22:19
Can someone tell me what this means and should I be worried?
My WiFi is private and secured so unless someone has my password, they can't get in. They can't get in anyway because my settings are set so that new devices have to be authorized by me.

All it means is that someone is trying to get in or trying to disrupt your connection.
I don't think think they are specifically trying to target you.
Someone's got a prog running trying to find an open port somewhere.
Port 443 is https. Secure web.

I'm wondering if I should alert my ISP about this because looking at the log, it has been happening every minute since Thursday at around 6pm.

But I have a secure wifi and you can tell because in the list of available connections, I have a lock symbol over mine.

It's likely some kid has set up a scanner brute force their way into whoever's got open WiFi in range. Especially in townhomes and apartment complexes, there are enough unique routers that somebody might be dumb enough to leave their wifi unsecured. So it's constantly, repeatedly scanning.
Sounds like your equipment is doing it's job. You could contact your telco to see if they have more customers in the building and suggest that they secure their wifi as well.

Somebody is poking at your HTTP and HTTPS ports - which are almost certainly not open - apparently from upstream from you.
This sort of probe is common as dirt.
I wouldn't expect your ISP is going to care. If there's any firmware updates to your router, apply them. It wouldn't hurt to review your router config.

So I'm doing a little research and this, apparently, is a VERY common problem with netgear routers.

Some of the people are saying it is dropped traffic (nothing to worry about), some are saying that it is causing them to go over their data limits. No telling if these people have correctly identified this as the source of the issue.
Have you noticed a drop in speed when this started? Have you noticed a bump in your data usage?
Try running MalwareBytes and a Virus Scan, to be safe.
