I was thinking Kendrick, Chance, Eminem (specifically the Slim Shady LP and Marshall Mathers LP). Rap is generally criticized for being shallow, and I think the work by those three specifically proves rap can be pretty meaningful. I...definitely never found that to be the case with anything by any rappers who paint their faces, personally.

Even I appreciate 60s music. The Beach Boys being my favourite from that era.
