Sections of songs that make you freeze in joy
It's an obvious post.
Some sounds excite us pretty much. Post the musical sound that makes you just reply the section in what seems like forever.

So one sound that makes me freeze in utter joy:

@ (1:17)

Notice: this is not what I usually listen to. But despite the genre.

No songs make me freeze in joy. I am partial to the blues!

Especially after 7:04, up to around 9:31
(Make sure your bass is ready!)

I bought this album on CD 25 years ago.
7:23 through 8:06 still gives me shivers.
(But to truly appreciate it, you should listen from 4:50 through to the end)

TWO sections that are simply astonishing:
6:26 through around 10:00, and 13:30 through 16:32

Obviously I loves me some rock instrumentals.   Cool Shades

Oops, I almost forgot another favorite.  7:29 through 9:00:

One more, then I'll shut up.  4:15 through 6:54 is pretty amazing.
But I also love the bass intro from 0:00 through 1:42

Very interesting thread! Certainly something I think of a lot, but I wasn't sure others did as well. Let's dig for a few.

1. Ought - Beautiful Blue Sky - Starting, for one, around 0:30 , listen to, and past 0:39, and the background guitar (?) three-note cluster ascend rather than descends (sorry, I never took up music myself, so I don't know the terminlogy.

2. Portishead - "The Rip"

Approx: 2:09-2:57, the keyboard "solo", which ascends into proper volume with very light percussion and vocals in the background.

3. The Jesus and Mary Chain - "Just Like Honey"

The first 30 seconds, but really the whole song is great (imho). Wonderful cinematography at the end of Lost in Translation to see the song off.

Give me "Sittin' On Top of the World", from the Wolf. That shit will always chill me out. Other blues I dig: SRV on his In Step Album ... been there, done that, and thanks for that hand up, brotha. BB with "Sweet Little Angel". "St James's Infirmary."

Other songs that freeze me up -- "Badge", from Cream. "The Song Remains the Same", from Zep. "Entre Nous", from Rush. "Songbird", from Fleetwood Mac. "You Shook Me All Night Long", Accadaccas.

There's more. When it comes to music, my emotions run high, my hair flies, my body aches, and yeah, I get some chills up my spine.

Oh, and this:

It's like a dream that will never come true, but damned if you can't just taste it. Ah well.

I have these moments in various genres, but since rock/pop is already well represented, something classical:

The return of the main theme around 8:00 and the change in mood and key before ca. 12:30

The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
Psalm 14, KJV revised edition

My favourite song at this moment. I like both the message and the beat.

"By simple common sense I don't believe in God, in none"
