Is the thread viewer count always accurate?
Sometimes I see a view count of over 100 I think sometimes, but we don't have 100 people on this forum surely?
If its people who aren't members of this forum how are they finding these specific threads? On Google?
I actually think it's pretty strange anyway that a lot of subjects on here only get replied to by around 10 people it seems. Yet so many people view.
Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.
Impersonation is treason.

Five or so people have a discussion in a thread, another 10 simply post once or twice. Five of the active ones plus let's say another five of the more passive ones will constantly read the new replies, thus accumulating more views.

Sometimes I think I've said something quite brilliant.
Sometimes I go back a few times to see if anyone kudosed me.
Sometimes I'm disappointed. :-)

I also wonder does it count navigation within the thread as distinct views? Like if I go from page 3-6 consecutively, does the thread get 4 views?
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Guests and bots count towards thread views too.
