We remember we elected Bush. He was just about as stupid as Palin.

Oh Shit ... Here we go ...

I too fear a country run by Palin, but she has too much disdain from and for Republicans. You've gotta be a team player to get elected president and she is only out for herself. But after eight years of the country being run into the shitter by Bush, if Palin did get elected, I would definitely consider moving to a different country. It is scary how much our country embraces stupidity.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

Well, I worry because Republicans are going to forget their mild dislikes of one of their own if it means that they're going to get the votes to control the government again. I guess time will tell if Palin is popular enough with the voting populace. Maybe she's trying to find that out herself right now. RE: Oh Shit ... Here we go ...

"We", as in the majority of voting Americans, didn't elect Bush no matter what the vote count in Florida was (and even this is highly dubious). Bush lost the majority vote in 2000 but still got to be president because of how our byzantine Electoral College is run. While this did mean he got the White House, he didn't have a mandate from the people. He won in 2004 because Kerry decided not to try very hard. Some questionable things in Ohio too but nothing as obvious as how they stole Florida four years prior. Oh, and just in case I get hit with this snide remark every time I talk about 2000: No, I won't "get over it". Ever. As a patriotic American, I will remain angry and bitter about the stolen election of 2000 until I go to my grave (and for eternity thereafter if there happens to be an afterlife after all).

So tired of having to choose from Republican and Republican lite.. and it keeps going downhill. Soon it will be a choice between Republican and "conservative libertarian", and then our country will REALLY be screwed.
Quote:Yes, but Palin doesn't even have the majority support from Republicans. Irrelevant. We only get two choices over here and if you think the Republicolibertarianazis who dislike Palin would vote for Obama instead you are kidding yourself. They will toe the party line. The Dems will vote for Obama whether they are completely satisfied with him or not...which includes myself. The election will thus fall into the hands of the independents and you never know what those assholes are going to do from one week to the next. And D-P....it shouldn't have been close enough to enable them to steal Florida. Point well taken and I agree. 46% of American voters are total dipshits, as evident by their fairly recent vote for McCain/Palin in 2008.

It's like all the voices in my head are posting without my permission
But that's okay: I'm in a good mood today Please give me a home where cloud buffalo roam
Where the dear and the strangers can play
Where sometimes is heard a discouraging word
But the skies are not stormy all day
The thing is that if Palin keeps going on about the "lamestream media," she's not going to be treated very favorably in the mainstream media which will slant reporting in favor of Obama. That, and they won't hold back when they correctly portray her as an ignorant airhead who wants a theocracy.
