I made a thread in Rlyeh once proclaiming that IRL, back in my homeland, I was usually the smartest person in the room in a lot of ways. I stick by that statement. It's not that incredible. The people over there are incredibly stupid and uneducated on average, that's just the way it is. It doesn't take a significant intellect to rise above the norm.

Anyway, that was my attempt at excusing my natural arrogance. LP took it to mean I declared myself the smartest person on the forum. Go figure.

I'm usually the smartest person in the room in RL too.

There's a lot of stupid people in life, but on the internet it's very easy to find a bunch of smart people.

You HAVE said you're the smartest person on AF though, a few times.

In I did, I didn't mean it, I never thought so. I consider myself at at least the same level of intelligence as most members here, if I may say so myself. This community influences its members greatly. There are a lot of exchanges of information and wise opinions going on. People influence each other with their posts over time, I think, little by little. A certain balance is struck. A common style of thought common to most of us has been brought into existence and is being constantly modified with each new significant presence in particular, but by the old ones as well.
