@Bella, there's no love lost between me and Drich I assure you. But any hate is a function of the anger and a lot of the time I am, or try to be, detached from anger, and more so with the Buddhism stuff so that's what I mean by my feelings being variable.

I can't put it differently. I sometimes feel contempt for people falling for rightwing messiah figures. They fuck themselves in the process, and that is tied to my second reason for contempt. If they're ignorant but not wilfully I try to help them. If I fail and everyone else fails too because they either become wilfully ignorant or it turns out they aren't intelligent enough and are incapable enough of ever knowing any better after all, I feel pity.

Contempt only comes into the mix if these people are toxic to me or my friends. I find contempt more personal than pity.

This is just for me personally.

They poison my society. So, pity doesn't cut it. I do everything in my limited powers to fight them. Not because I hate them but because they are lured into desiring a society I don't want ot be part of.
