Trump is president; Who is to blame?

RE: Trump is president; Who is to blame?
You'll notice (if you do any reading of this thread and similar ones) that I'm quite in agreement with nearly all the criticisms that have been leveled at Hillary, the DNC, and the electoral college/first-the-post system and have made many of them myself in the past. So, with all due respect, fuck you for saying that I don't address the points that are being discussed, and implying that I 'just don't want to hear ideas that are different than my own.'

I'm just not in the mood for Drich's (or your, for that matter) ridiculous, trolly, insanely rude and childish ways of presenting their ideas.

And good for you, you can recognize an insult when you see one.

OP, I find the article extremely simplistic and lacking of any fresh perspectives or new ideas. The question you posed is good enough in theory but I think the way you construct your op sets the tone for the rest of the conversation. I dislike the way you set it up and I don't feel like answering your questions as a result, at least for now.

In short the majority of voting Americans said we are tried of the way things are going. We want something completely different (and not just change in skin tone for the POTUS) but real change that affects how this nation is governed. The Fact that the media was not accuratly reporting or had no idea of what the MAJORITY of America wanted means they are no longer actually reporting the news but spinning narritive to support an agenda.

Actually if the current trend holds, Clinton won the popular vote.

Good thing your mood doesn't concern me. You leveled an attack at someone for expressing their opinions. I merely reciprocated. As for your impression of me, Drich, or anyone else, that's irrelevant as well. Address the substance of the posts, not the people or their characters. You are setting the tone here yourself. I am merely not swallowing it uncritically.

Ben Wallace\s piece in the NY Times titled "Who Believed in Trump, and Who is to Blame? Wrote:This does not seem to be only a political event. Trump never should have gotten close. That so many Americans who are struggling with money picked Trump must mean that our version of capitalism could use some further adjustments. That so many Americans in places where the economy is on the rise also chose Trump raises the possibility that our leaders promise too much, that we expect that more is possible than really is. That such a proudly amoral and publicly hateful man could become the choice of large majorities of observant Christians suggests some weakness in our religious life and our expressions of morality. That he did not lose more support after his racism and misogyny became well-known suggests how commonplace these resentments must be, between husbands and wives and between neighbors. There was not enough individual decency to make plain Trump’s indecency. We are not so good a people as we thought.

So who do you blame?  The DNC?  Hillary?

My first inclination is to blame the education system.  How could people not see the false promise of a strong man saying "only I can do it, trust me and don't worry about the details?"  Even more than that, there are a lot of people not doing well economically and rolling the dice on change probably beats betting on slow, incremental improvement to them.

Or maybe human nature is simply tragic?  Why do we look for a savior anyway?  The trouble with looking for someone better than yourself to rescue you is it still depends on you to recognize the right one.

Honestly I think he won because he had the most air time and people voted for the man off the telly.

Yep Bob, I might well be over thinking it and then imputing an equal amount of thought to what are functionally turnips.

I'm not attacking Drich 'for expressing his opinions.'  I am literally just not in the mood to address his absurdly immature way of conversing with people, on a day when many are already irritated.  It's not that subtle of a difference, but it might be lost on you. His points have already been raised by other people, and I (and many others) have responded to them. I'm just not in the mood to have that conversation with an utterly unbelievable asshole.

And I'll address what I like, with your permission EP.  Drich doesn't have to respond to me, and his god knows I won't be responding to him.  Or you, for now.
