"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

I got to that weight within the ten weeks of the healthy eating class offered at Kaiser. When it ended I resolved to just go on eating healthy and moderating things I love like cookies with tea. I'm still at 200 but thinking of taking the class again. It meets weekly and includes a weight in at the start of each class. The way I eat now is sufficient to maintain but I know to lose again I'll have to allow myself to feel hungry more than I do now and my sweet tooth will hate it but I know how to make it work coming in under a daily calorie limit. I was 200 now I'm 120. I stay away from empty calories, so I stay away from things like flour sugar and starch, I also don't eat oil, fast foods or snacks. I use skim milk and fat free cheese instead of regular. I use splenda inplace of sugar and whole wheat in place of white flour. As I said you have to know how to cook, take the ingredients of something unhealthy and swap with healthy ingredients. Also bake, don't fry. For example I make cookies using raw chocolate or raisins , splenda, baking powder, bakingsoda and whole wheat flour, then I put it in the microwave to cook with no oil. And it tastes glorious without being fattening. Also always read the ingredients of anything you're buying. Especially the ones that advertises (disguises) itself as healthy (Up yours yoplait!). Honestly thanks to a website called Livestrong.com as well as my mom being an expert cook (cuz she has celiac disease so she knows how to reworking cooking methods) and Tae Bow I was able to lose the weight and keep it off. ![]() (November 18, 2016 at 2:49 pm)pocaracas Wrote: Nymph, can you do this? "Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
