I have developed a lump in my side, near one of the operating sites.
I've talked to the ward, and to my GP, and they are optimistic that it isn't anything too serious. The GP has had a feel, and thinks it might some sort of fluid buildup near the surface. I'm going to have an ultrasound soon to make sure. Maybe it's an alien!
Since I have no other symptoms, in fact I feel relatively good, they think that's a good sign.
Regarding my diet, my specialist is cautiously optimistic. He's not too sure if the problem has really been solved. To be honest him and the surgeon need to get together and discuss it. He's extremely good and proactive, so I wouldn't be surprised if he does just that. I'll be seeing him early in the new year, and I'm hoping that another scan might make sure one way or the other. I have to have a proper diet though... this is the rest of my life I'm talking about.
Anyhow, to be on the safe side, I'll keep with my regular diet until I've at least seen the specialist. My appetite is back to normal, and I'm tolerating my precious diet now. I can still have roasties and fake roast for Christmas dinner. Good enough for me.
