I've heard a pro gamer explain that doing this early on in the game keeps your fingers moving and more prepared for when you actually need to execute lots of commands later in the game
Yeah, it's kind of like why does a tennis player keep bouncing up and down before the serve? It keeps things dynamic, so they're ready to spring when they need to.
I wonder if a game is still fun at that level or if this kid feels like he's at work.
I remember my friends used to call me a spoil sport because I'd take command and conquer really seriously and mass produce the best units while they were messing around making their bases look pretty. I suppose the fun part is winning all the time and getting a fuck load of cash from sponsors. Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them. Impersonation is treason. Professional League of Legends players stream twitch all the time, and you can tell by their voice chat that they're having a lot of fun. RE: Why do pro-gamers spam hotkeys?

If screaming 'faggot' over the internet is you're idea of fun.
I am John Cena's hip-hop album.
Eww, PC Gaming.
When I'm on LoL, it's much more preferable than trying to perfectly time hotkey presses constantly. If I spam the button eight times a second it will then activate the move as soon as it's able to

When I playyed SC and Brood War, at the start there wasn't much to do. Spammjng hotkeys early is like warming up to the mid to lategame. I only did 180-200 apm, not a progamer ofc. Also square select several parts of the screen to calibrate the accuracy of selecting.
Spam hotties, that's what I heard.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.
